Slippery Elm – is a tree native to the central and eastern United States and to Ontario, Canada. In herbal medicine, the inner bark of the slippery foot has been used for a long time and it is also widespread in the world of food supplements. Beige in color and strongly slimy, it has a faint sheep-like odor and a mild taste. In the first American work on the medicinal plant Materia Medica Americana, J. Schoepf said in 1787 that it was like a “bark ointment.” The gel core obtained from the inner bark of this tree successfully covers, protects and supports the mucous membranes from the mouth to the intestines.
Slippery Elm:
– creates a protective mucus layer on the esophagus, stomach and intestines,
– protects the mucous membranes from the harmful effects of toxins and residues,
– high in antioxidants,
– softens irritation of the throat, esophagus and intestines,
– gently cleanses the colon.
