Patchouli essential oil (Pogostemon cablin) is made from dried leaves, and has a rather thick consistency and dark brown colour. The scent is very intensive, spicy and long-lasting; it reminds of wood and oriental scents. Often used in perfumes and incense. Its antiseptic properties make it a favourite with beauticians and masseurs.
Patchouli essential oil:

– has calming, relaxing and antidepressant properties;
– used in oily hair care and antidandruff products;
– recommended for acne-prone, chapped, dry, rosacea-prone skin;
– does not irritate the skin;

Not everyone likes patchouli essential oil, so first make sure that the scent is pleasant to you. If you like it but it annoys your family, you can combine it in mixtures. Please also note that the scent can remain on clothes even after washing.
