Made from luxury Argentine leather, the Valiente Leather Polo Belt has an outdoor feel from the earthy greens and neutral shades of brown. Perfect for a day out shooting. People often ask us how our polo belts are made. It's an interesting process. The finest vegetable tanned leather is sought from tanneries across Argentina. It is then cut into 'butt's' – each side of the cow makes one rectangular butt. The weak rump and shoulder are discarded. The butt is then sliced into pieces of 3.5cm width, the typical width of a polo belt to be worn with jeans or chinos. The edges of the belts are coloured to make sure that they match the outer surfaces of the butt strips. A leather stamp is then placed onto the belt cutting fine rectangular lines into the diamond pattern clearly visible on all of our belts. The belts are then painstakingly hand-woven, each belt taking about 4 hours to thread by a skilled weaver. It's a surprisingly difficult job to do well and we take great pride in employing only the best weavers for our polo belts. We design the belts here in the UK and then make them in Argentina according to our exacting specifications.
